I’ve had the IUD out for about 11 months now. I have no cramping and my periods are back to being 3-4 days. I stopped taking birth control pills in July when my long-term relationship ended. I had no interest in having sex with anyone any time soon and I thought it was best not to have any added hormones in my body given how emotional I already was.
I do feel like I’m starting to lose my hair again. The doctor said that we go through cycles where we will lose more hair than usual. It is definitely making me self conscious. I may need to start looking into an alternative for hair loss.
I have not had a yeast infection since its been removed and I have had two UTIs, which were a result of aggressive sexual activity apparently. Talk about a disappointing discovery!
I have no had an annual exam come back with abnormal results since the removal. As I said before, the IUD can cause your cells to become irritated and inflamed resulting in abnormal results. As a girl, hearing abnormal results for 2+ years made me very uncomfortable.
I do miss the convenience of not having to take a daily pill or worry about getting pregnant. I did have bad luck while on the pill for 6 months. In the 6th month, I ended up getting pregnant. He ended the relationship a week after conception so neither of us knew at the time. I didn’t even know until I had a miscarriage 5 weeks later. I thought I was just late from the stress of the breakup. Needless to say, being on the pill again makes me very concerned.
If anyone has any suggestions for the hair loss, I greatly welcome them!
